The ESL for Written Exploration CDCP program is for advanced English learners who wish to continue building fluency in English through writing for different purposes. The program has one required course, ESL Writing Skills, Intermediate to Advanced, and one elective course of which there are two choices: ESL for Memoir Writing and ESL and Newsletter Writing.

ESLA 186 ESL Writing Skills, Intermediate to Advanced 36-72 Hours

This ESL course will acquaint intermediate to advanced students with writing techniques by focusing on pre-writing, outlining, drafting, revising and editing. (Apportionment)

ESLA 270 ESL and Newsletter Writing 72 Hours

In this advanced level English as a Second Language course, students will build English fluency in reading, writing, speaking and listening while planning out and creating a school newsletter. Students will use software applications, digital devices and online tools to create, edit and revise newsletter material. Students will interact with the campus and campus community by visiting different parts of the campus. (Apportionment)

ESLA 272 ESL for Memoir Writing 72 Hours

In this advanced level English as a Second Language course, students will build English fluency in reading, writing, speaking and listening while learning about and reading published memoir texts as well as planning out and writing personal memoir selections. Students will use word processing software to create documents in class and for class. (Apportionment)
