ESL Employment Preparation Part A is designed for intermediate to advanced ESL students who want to enter the U.S. workforce. This program is the first step to employment by helping students gain necessary skills for finding, applying for, and interviewing for a new job. Job Searches and Resume Writing teaches students how to search for and apply for a job online, and it teaches students how to write a strong resume that will help attract future employers. Interview Preparation teaches students about job interviews in the U.S. from interview etiquette to strategies for helping anxiety during an interview. It will also teach interviewing strategies that help students impress future employers

Intermediate to advanced ESL students taking this course will gain necessary skills to search and prepare for English-speaking employment in the USA. Students will learn how to determine a career path, conduct job searches, complete applications, write a professional resume, and communicate with potential employers.

ESLA 1202 ESL for Work: Interview Preparation 36-54 Hours

Advisory: The student has passed ESLA 232 Intermediate Low or tested into ESLA 233 Intermediate High or above

Intermediate to advanced ESL students taking this course will learn about and practice interviewing for U.S. jobs. Students will learn how to prepare for the interview, question-answering strategies, strategies for speaking a second language when nervous, U.S. interview culture and etiquette, and how to impress U.S. employers in an interview.
