The Musical Theatre Performance Certificate is designed to prepare the student for performance competency in the field of Musical Theatre. The Musical Theatre Certificate requires a total of 29-31 units, 26-27 units of which are required courses and as listed with a grade of C or better. At least 50% of all course work must be completed at Cypress College. This certificate requires 29-31 units.

Program Student Learning Outcomes:
OUTCOME 1: Develop in the student a skill set of performance techniques and that will lead to success in the musical theatre field and all the various venues it encompasses.
OUTCOME 2: Utilize a sequence of courses that will lead to improvement of the performers audition skills and abilities to perform onstage at a professional level.
OUTCOME 3: Identify professional performance opportunities in the musical theatre field, such as civic light opera, regional theatre, Las Vegas showrooms, cruise line productions, Broadway theatre, national and international theatrical tours, film and television.
OUTCOME 4: Advance student understanding of the professional aspects of the theatrical entertainment industry.
OUTCOME 5: Develop professional performance behavior and ethics that will embrace the standard expected of performers by professional theatrical producers and production companies
